Ing. Manuel Nußbaumer, BSc · IT Infrastructure, Networking and Security
I plan, build and operate IT infrastructure for companies – from the server room through site connectivity into the cloud. My focus is on grown environments where downtime is not an option.
I am not a manager who only delegates. I work inside the systems – while still deciding with cost, risk and operations in mind.
In my main role I am responsible for IT operations of a corporate group comprising around 50 companies at roughly 35 European sites. That means multi-company environments, systems grown over decades, shared server and network resources – and very little tolerance for downtime.
Alongside that I have worked independently since 2009, covering everything from network and server projects through video surveillance to lighting control systems in event venues.
From a single firewall to complete site connectivity – planned, implemented and supported for the long run.
Virtualisation, file services and directory services – designed for availability and recoverability.
Structured networks with clean segmentation, redundant paths and dependable site-to-site links.
Firewalls, segmentation and access concepts – plus an honest assessment of what the actual risks are.
Setting up hybrid environments properly: identities, devices and data where they belong.
Camera systems and access solutions – from planning and cabling through to evaluation.
Technology that controls buildings transparently – with sensors, clear alarm logic and visualisation.
Programming and control of large lighting installations – from event halls to LED façades.
IP-based phone systems, properly integrated with network and directory services.
Reports, fault analysis and interfaces where documentation disappeared long ago.
Chosen independently of any vendor – what matters is what holds up in the given environment and can actually be operated.

Installations where scale or requirements went well beyond everyday work.
1,400 fixtures
Redundant lighting control for the main halls – designed for continuous event operation with no tolerance for failure.
LED façade
Control of the shopping centre’s LED façade, including programming of the displayed content.
4 locations
Network and show lighting programming at several locations in Vienna, Baden and Munich – supported over many years.
20 IP cameras
Camera system, temperature monitoring, alerting and uninterruptible power supply for a newly built server room.
80+ workstations
Two computer labs and around 20 classrooms networked, including directory services, software deployment and Wi-Fi.
Various venues
Programming of complex light shows in bars, venues and clubs – from planning through to ongoing adjustment.
Industrial corporate group – around 50 companies, roughly 35 European sites, some 1,000 employees.
IT service provider in Vienna – around 60 clients, a team of eight, data centre operations.
Trading company in Vienna – 250 workstations, 25 servers, four sites. Built server room, virtualisation clusters and a redundant core network.
Networking, video technology and lighting control for event venues, hospitality and commercial businesses.
Technology company in Burgenland – complete IT relocation into a new company building.
Energy utility in Burgenland – 200 workstations across ten sites.
